I’ve just had a call from our oldest and dearest client, Les of Fruit4London – Free next day delivery – fruits and vegetables to homes and offices.
Les rang me to share some good news about a situation that had arisen within the fruit delivery business. Les rang me last week for some help on dealing with the situation, to which I did what I could, but today when Les rang, he told me that the situation was resolved and things are good.
As I listened to Les, I felt a great sense of jubilation. I found myself smiling with absolute joy.
When someone I work with wins, I win. This is how it feels for me.
I expect it felt the same for Les, because that why he rang to share his news with me. We have worked together for a long time, and we haven’t always had happy smiley calls. This doesnt mean we have had difficult calls, but we have had calls where we have had to talk business and think together to find solutions to business problems. Todays call is one of the calls that I will remember for a long time, because its one of those rare moments when a business owner “wins”. These are the moments that spur us on, and keep us going.
Les spoke honestly and openly about the impact on his team, who he values highly, the future of the business, and partners like POLARIS – SEO Agency too. These considerations demonstrate the fibre of a person I feel, and I respect it.
I am happy that I have people like this that I work with because we clearly share a similar outlook and share the same values. It means I am in a good place with the right people.
Its prompted me to write a post on here because I love Les, and what he created in Fruit 4 London some 14 years ago. Not only did Les and his business partner Gabor give me a chance 14 years ago, but they have always stood by me, through thick and thin. From the outside, it may look like just a company selling Fruit, but on the inside, I have seen the effort, commitment, and determination that has culminated in creating a well run business that serves hundreds of customers every week.
I have worked with this company for 14 years, and we have always looked after their SEO, PPC and also helped them get through 6 websites over that time. My part in their journey is fundamental as a marketer, but small in other respects. Conversations and moments where we “share” emotionally, keep us connected, and drive us forward. As friends, as colleagues, and as partners in business. I love this, and this is exactly what I live for.
If it wasn’t for people like Les, I wouldn’t be doing what I am today @POLARIS. We don’t just help business owners get more leads and revenue. We do more than that.
